Overview

The State of Vermont is seeking an Administrative Services Manager to join the Cannabis Control Board. The Board is newly created to equitably and effectively implement and administer the laws and rules regulating adult-use cannabis in Vermont to ensure the safety of all Vermonters and the health of our youth. The Administrative Services Manager will assist the Board in creating procedures and systems to carry out the duties of the Board, develop budgets and organizational charts that maximize the efficiency of the Board’s resources, and collaborate with other state agencies to improve the Board’s functionality. The Board has much to do in a short amount of time as it implements a regulatory structure for adult- and medical-use cannabis in Vermont. It needs an Administrative Services Manager who maintains a high degree of professionalism and adaptability under intense internal and external pressure.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND three (3) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

OR

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline AND five (5) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

OR

Associate’s degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND five (5) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

OR

High School diploma AND seven (7) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

OR

One (1) year or more of experience as an Administrative Services Manager II with the State of Vermont.

Special Requirements

For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
