Of course there is pumpkin spice-flavored CBD oil… we live in the time of pumpkin spice EVERYTHING.

The really amazing thing is that it took me this long to try it.

I recently had the pleasure of tasting the limited edition Pumpkin Spice CBD Oil from Spruce–on of our top-rated CBD oil tinctures.

Did it taste like corn mazes and hay rides and the first real, deep cold of the season? Or was it just another me-too product jumping on the pumpkin spice band wagon that news anchors love to chatter about each October 1st?

I’ll tell you my impressions, but if you want to try this for yourself, you can grab a limited edition bottle here.

Pumpkin Spice CBD Oil: The Flavor of Fall

I’m sure this is what everybody wants to read, so we’ll get right to it.

How did it taste and smell?

Kind of strange, and then really really good:

The Smell

It smells like chemically-weaponized cake batter. Like, if you were making a cake-batter scented candle (note to self: cake-batter candle business), this is what the vat of chemicals you’d mix with the wax (just a few drops!) would smell like–pre-mixed.

It’s not unpleasant! Just, wow. Powerful.

A very sweet-but-not-quite-cloying scent, it doesn’t smell much like pumpkin spice itself–just a hint of something like cinnamon. That’s okay though, because you don’t put CBD oil in your nose, you put it in your mouth, which brings us to…

The Taste

Once you take the dropper and put it under your tongue (remember to keep it there for 60 seconds!), that’s when the magic begins–but not right away.

The first five seconds it doesn’t taste like much of anything. After about five seconds, you get a hit of hemp oil–which I personally find pleasant! That grassy, Earthy hemp taste lasts for about 7-10 seconds, and then fades. It’s replaced by a taste that’s pretty incredible: it tastes like how a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte smells. For me, this last about 10-15 seconds, and is a really pleasant punch of autumn right in the kisser. after that, the taste fades altogether, and then you swallow it and that’s that.

The Effects of Taking this Tincture

The novelty of the taste will only take you so far–a CBD oil is only as valuable as how much it helps you. While none of this should be considered medical advice (dammit Jim, I’m cannabis journalist not a doctor), there are literally thousands of testimonials and stories to be found on the internet about just how much people are being helped by this golden oil. Not only that, but if you put on your research hat and seek out legitimate medical journals, you’ll find study after study that talks about the benefits of CBD oil.

For me, it helps a ton with anxiety. For you, it could bring relief to a number of different ailments. Literally every body is different. Like all high-quality CBD oil tinctures, this pumpkin spice CBD oil from Spruce works really quickly when taken sublingually. CBD can make you feel great for a number of reasons.

A Small Batch, Limited Run

Like the McRib, this particular offering from Spruce is only around for a limited time. I did some quick Googling and saw there are a few other more… perennial offerings of pumpkin-flavored CBD. I think the idea of small, limited edition CBD flavors is going to be something that catches on and becomes a more common offering as CBD companies look to differentiate themselves and break out of this plateau the industry is starting to find itself in.

Unlike the McRib, this CBD oil is made in a small batch and from organic ingredients. The Spruce sales page says it’s the say 25mg-of-CBD-per-dropper as their standard 750mg bottle. Like all their products, this is organic, no pesticides, 100% natural, zero-high, made in the USA lab grade CBD oil. Instead of the usual light mint flavor, this one packs (obviously) a sweet pumpkin spice taste due to the natural pumpkin spice flavors added

What’s Next for Pumpkin Spice CBD?

Watch this space, I guess.

Next year there’ll be more special edition PS-CBD to try from some other well-known and well-loved brands, I’m calling it now.

As for me, I’ll savor this one for as long as it lasts. Tomorrow, I’ll drop some into my coffee (which I’ve done before with mint and some drinking cacao, which uh-mazing and highly recommended). Maybe I can create something that tastes like a pumpkin spice latte–minus all the sugar and artificial ingredients, but with the added benefits of everything CBD has to offer.

Of course, there are a lot of pumpkin spice haters out there, and I don’t blame you. This trend jumped the shark a long, long time ago. I just happen to be a fan of the flavor. If you are too, you’ll love this tincture. If not, well… I guess we’ll agree to disagree on that one.
